Qingming Festival falls on April 5th this year,it is a traditional Chinese festival for Chinese people to show respect to their ancestors and remember their dead relatives by cleaning their tombs and placing offerings.
The weather is getting warm,there are various activities for Qingming Festival,tomb upkeep,spring outings and eating green rice balls have been an important part of this festival since its beginning.
We make the green rice balls(or Qingtuan) and Jiaozi in Dingyan today. Green rice balls are a popular Qingming food which are made of a mixture of glutinous rice flour and juice of green plant--- mugwort, or Ai Qing that brings the color to the delicacy, and stuffed with sweetened bean paste. For Jiaozi, it comes with various fillings including pork meat,pickled vegetables and bamboo shoots.Our people are dexterous at this and the table is full of Qingtuan and Jiaozi in several minutes.
