The difference between spring tension and spring force

1、 Different meanings:

Also known as "elastic force". After an object is deformed by an external force, if the external force is removed, the object can return to its original shape, which is called "elastic force". Its direction is opposite to the direction of the external force that deforms the object. When the spring is subjected to external force and the length changes, the spring will produce a force to restore the original shape at the same time. This force is called elastic force.

2、 Essentially different:

When the spring is elongated, the elastic force generated by the spring will pull people's hands inward; When the spring is compressed, the elastic force generated by the spring will push people's hands outward; The greater the force on the spring, the greater the length change, and the greater the elastic force generated. When the tension of the spring is less than the tension of the spring, the deformation of the spring will be reduced, and the tension of the spring will also be reduced.

Tension spring

Initial tension of tension spring: the initial tension is equal to the force required to adequately pull apart the mutually close springs and coils. The initial tension occurs after the spring is rolled and formed. During the production of tension spring, the initial tension of each tension spring is uneven due to the difference of steel wire material, wire diameter, spring index, static electricity, lubricating grease, heat treatment, electroplating, etc. Therefore, when installing tension springs of various specifications, the force required to pre pull to a slight separation between the parallel coils is called initial tension.
