How do we maintain the steel wire?

In order to make the steel wire have better working characteristics and relatively longer service life, some measures must be taken to prevent the steel wire from being damaged during the maintenance and use of the steel wire.
1. It is extremely important for the elongation characteristics and working life of the steel wire to properly transfer the measuring steel wire from the delivery reel to the drum. Improper delivery can easily lead to reversal of the bend, making the wire more difficult to maintain, causing kinks or entanglements.
2. Avoid gripping the steel wire with tools such as pliers or hardened claws. When the wire is subjected to tension or bending stress, scoring or gouging on its surface can cause damage.
3. Wire kink caused by uncontrolled relaxation should be avoided.
4. When pulling the steel wire out of the well and winding it on the drum, be sure to remove the well fluid, mud and sand and other impurities stuck on the steel wire, and also apply protective oil on the steel wire.
5. Do not pull the wire beyond its plastic limit.
6. Before starting work or extending the work cycle from time to time, cut off feet of wire from the reel and tie the knot again, in order to prevent the wire at the knot from breaking due to excessive use.
